De Cordova Museum and sculpture Park, Lincoln, Massachussets The de Cordova Museum, “More than a museum”. the largest museum of modern and contemporary American art of New England. Surrounded with nature, it offers the only permanent public sculpture park. The main building vertical architecture melt into the landscape. A roof terrace provides a fantastic view of the park and the Flint’s pond (reservoir for the town of Lincoln). The exhibition of Jennifer Maestre’s abstract sculptures made of sharpen colour pencils is a tension between desire and repulsion. The softness of the subject of Dave Cole’s sculptures : the Teddy bear, is alternated by the materials used, wire, Fiberglass or lead. As well as the temporary exhibition, the de Cordova Museum is a lively museum, involved in education : The family Sundays with interactive activities, the gallery talk where you can meet the artists who discuss their work, the art classes with every year an exhibition of students’works. This museum is also opened to private special event. In this museum, you can live in peace, walk around the park and appreciate the outside sculptures collection, take a coffee or having lunch…
